The Hoh River.
About 2 miles up the Hoh River Trail, we came across a a side trail. Since we were taking our time, we decided to explore each and every side trail, just to see where they lead. This one lead down to the river, with a magnificent view of the river valley, looking west.
The Hoh River comes from glaciers on Mt Olympus, which grind the rocks underneath into a fine 'glacial flour'. The particulates give the Hoh River a milky slate blue color, mirroring the clouds in the sky.
