A school of jacks at Cabo Pulmo. Swimming in blue water with a sandy bottom sprinkled with reef structure stretching out in fingers, I see a large school of jacks in the distance. I start swimming for them, perpendicular to the light current. Soon I realize they are headed directly towards me and I slow down. I start shooting photos frantically as they swarm around me, splitting into two long freight trains on either side and converging again on the other side. I’ve just had a religious experience at El Bajo de los Meros, at Cabo Pulmo.
